RM of Star City’s story
The Rural Municipality of Star City No. 428 was incorporated as a rural municipality on January 1, 1913. It lies in east-central Saskatchewan, and its municipal office is in the town of Star City.
The RM surrounds the city of Melfort, the town of Star City and the village of Valparaiso. Within its boundaries are the unincorporated communities of Clements, Naisberry, Resource and South Star.
Today, visitors can find the Star City Heritage Museum and Melfort & District Regional Park among its attractions. The RM is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the second Tuesday of each month.
